I attended a button workshop a couple of weeks ago. This is the result:
Her er resultatet:
I wanted to try to make my own buttons because of my interest for both quilts and knitting. I would love to use buttons I have made myself.

Unfortunately the glaze has stopped one of the stitch holes but it might get a great brooch:
These were first patterned with hessian. Then patterned with the same stick I used to make the stitch holes with:
Here I used a piece of corrugated cardboard:
Her er brugt et stykke bølgepap:
Most of my buttons were glazed with blue because lack of time. The grey buttons were supposed to be glazed black.

Great idea! You’ll have to share photos of them when they are working for you.
How did you make the buttons? Or are they commercial ones you decorated?
Hi Wil
The buttons are all made by me – except for the blue (my choice) glazing which the teacher did after the workshop. We didn’t have access to the glaze and an oven in the classroom and the clay also had to dry first.
It is my first try with handmade buttons but I will surely try again.
Really nice!
